Our first regatta of the spring season was quite a success. The Women’s youth 2x Enya and Yaara won the A final by around 25 seconds. Men’s Youth 1x Nikolai won the B final. Our men’s double Maks and Ian won the A final. The Women’s U17 4x got second place after leading for the whole race but an unfortunate crab in the final stretch of the race that ended up breaking one of the oars, hindered their possibility of winning. Oue 2 nd varsity 2x Patrick and Joseph put up a great fight in the time trial and the men’s novice 4x finished in a respectable 4th place among a flight of much older boys. The women’s 4+ steered a solid course coxed by our very own Fiona and recovered from a devastating crab to finish the race rowing together and strong. We look forward to the rest of the spring season and hopefully more medals.
