Row to Paris Profile:
Introducing Charlotte Buck A three-time national team member and Tokyo 2020. Olympian, Charlotte Buck stroked the women's eight to a silver medal at the 2023 @worldrowingofficial Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. Buck walked on to Columbia women’s rowing as a freshman before being named team captain and MVP in both 2017 and 2018. According to Charolette they all spent a lot of the summer talking about the unity they needed to make the boat work, and that's what made the final special. She knows a lot of people were stressed watching them at the 1k, but they weren't, they just listened to their cox and raced their own race. For her specifically, this year had been about the camaraderie and strength of every member of the training center coming together to find success. The qualification of the 8+ and 4- for the Paris Olympics is due to so much more than just the personnel in the boats, she is so deeply grateful for all the people that make this team possible. She can't wait to see what next year brings.
Charlotte, a local Nyack resident, started rowing with the Rockland Rowing Association between her senior year at Nyack High School and her first year at Columbia University. She went to on to captain her team at Columbia. Not done with rowing after she graduated, she continued to train while coaching for Rockland. 2020 after some amazing virtual erg competitions where she finished second to the women’s world record holder, Charlotte was invited to the US Rowing training/selection camps for the women’s team. She spent the winter in Chula Vista and this spring in Princeton training with the national team and going through the selection process. And… she crushed it! (Like we knew she would.) We are so proud to beassociated with this amazing athlete and look forward to watching her success.
